Yesterday someone came to look at the house, so we needed to be somewhere else. We decided to take everyone over to the Salem Pond for a sand and swim experience. Miraculously, we got the house tidied and got all of our stuff packed up before the buyers came.
On our way to the bank, we noticed a safety fair at the fire station. Since we have a 2 year old boy, we just had to stop. We got to look inside the life flight helicopter, tour an ambulance, see the big fire trucks, try a crash simulator, climb a rock climbing wall, and have some balloons and popcorn. The neatest thing was that they tailored everything to Simon's needs. The harness tightened all the way down onto his cute little body so Dallin could help him on the climbing wall. The crash simulator guy made sure the cars bumped together lightly so Simon would have fun but not be scared. It was pretty cool for a spur of the moment stop.
Then we headed to the Pond. We unloaded the car. I took the girls to the bathroom and changed into my swimming suit. We each grabbed a bag or pail and loaded a bunch of stuff onto the stroller. As we started walking toward the pond, we saw the signs:

This water has been tested and is deemed unsafe for swimming or deep wading.High levels of bacteria have been found.
Bummer!
We sat on the shady grass and ate cheeseburgers and watched the giant catfish gobble up bread crumbs and saw some tiny baby ducks.
But we didn't get to swim.
We FINALLY got some good, hot weather, too!
So when we got home, we set up the kiddie pool and the 3 younger kids had a blast. Simon found some goggles to wear in the tub that night:
And guess who hopped right into the kiddie pool as soon as church was over, still in his church clothes!
The girls joined in for awhile while dinner cooked.
Simon got his hair cut this morning. Isn't he handsome?
