How my bedroom instantly went from the hottest in the house to the coldest. I can't figure out why!
The ways the Lord has been directing my life lately. How I gained a new perspective about being spiritually centered and how it has changed not just my life or my days, but my moments.
How I have millions of ideas for a new schedule floating around in my brain, but I don't have time to sit down and sort them out. So we are still winging it.
How a home school co-op was born and how its going.
How beautiful Ruby looked today. Her hair is finally long enough for pigtails. She did them herself, and her outfit was very well put together. She grinned when I showed her how the measuring spoon rests on the counter just right so she can fill it herself. I was nearly moved to tears by the power of her beauty at that moment.
How I am trying an experiment on the word with retiring and rising early. So far, I'm not feeling all that invigorated, but I think part of it is due to the fact that my body is so hungry for sleep that I'm still kind of catching up. I know one of these days it will happen.
Because of that experiment, I don't have time to blog!
Life is full and whole and happy for me right now.

There's just no stopping it.
It happened.
Even though I wished it wouldn't.
My baby girl turned 1!
It wasn't so bad, but there's something about a baby turning one that makes them not as much of a baby anymore.
We were all having too much fun to feel sad about it!
She got a new, big-girl carseat for her birthday throne. It was fun knowing that it would be fine to pick one that was pink and girly. I've usually been so careful to be gender-neutral in case of hand-me-downs.
She also got a funshiney sundress that she wore for her portraits.
And even though we have lots of baby dolls, I had to get her one that would be just hers just like her sisters got on their first birthdays.
I was making some kind of frosting design that was not working out when my kids reminded me that a friend had given us these cute napkins! Quick cake makeover!

Our family has a tradition that we borrowed from my sister.
The 8 days leading up to your 8th birthday, you get to chose a fun activity for each day.
Ruby's list:
1.Get pictures taken in my baptism dress.
2. Make a dress with mom:
3. Go to IHOP for breakfast with Mom and Dad.
4. Go with Mom and Dad to buy a toy. (A horse stamp set and a realistic soft kitten from pioneer village.)
5. Have a Family Home Evening lesson on baptism.
6. Go out with the family for frozen lemonade.
7. Get my ears pierced.
8. Have cake and ice cream.
For breakfast, Ruby chose pancakes and eggs.
Lunch: BLT sandwiches
Cake: Glazed lemon cake
Favorite color: Red
Ruby is ambitious, creative, helpful, and has a wonderful laugh. We love having her in our family!

I already blogged about Nathan getting the priesthood, but not about his actual birthday. It was fun for him to be in Pocatello for his birthday this year.
Grandma Porter made pancakes for breakfast.
Instead of cake, he wanted brownies. He also made a special request for dirt and worms. It is gummy worms hidden in chocolate pudding with crushed oreos. He chose to eat that without hands!
I know someone took some pictures, but I forgot my camera! I'll have to insert them later.
Nathan is thoughtful, dependable, a natural leader, a good athlete, and a great friend. I am very blessed to have him as an oldest child.

Goodnight, Moon
Goodnight, Moon.
Goodnight sink full of dirty dishes.
Goodnight unfinished laundry because I was washing vomity towels all day.
Goodnight unfilled school drawers.
Goodnight sick children.
Goodnight tired husband who pushed the double stroller on a walk with me in the pitch dark and listened while I tried to make sense of my struggles.
Goodnight well children who put up with yet another day of interrupted life and an unavailable mom.
Goodnight to my mom and dad who made a special trip to deliver something I bought online. They were a ray of strength and happiness after a difficult night.
Goodnight buckets of honey that my dad brought for me to sell to the home schoolers.
Goodnight unsanded deck. I hope you get sanded before the snow.
Goodnight big messy yard. I know you will be beautiful someday.
Goodnight computer. My husband is watching a movie and rocking the baby. I don't want to miss out.
Goodnight, Sarah. You did your best. You cuddled those sick toddlers. You dealt with a surprise from mother nature on an already difficult day. You've had a minute to rest and think. You'll make tomorrow better.

A few pictures the kids took
I keep finding these silly pictures on my camera! I can't bear to delete them, though. Some of them are actually pretty good! So here they are:
Sarajoy loves to play with wash cloths. She thinks it is so funny to run in the laundry room and steal something from a basket and run off with it! I keep finding random towels, socks, and clean underwear lying around my house.

I don't know what kind of disease you would call this. Gout, maybe.
We have this box of beans that the kids play with like sand. I love how the big kids always have fun with it even though I get it out for the toddlers.
She's still learning not to eat the beans.

Locks of Love
I have LOVED for my girls to have long, beautiful hair for me to play with. It can get to be a lot of work, so I thought it the perfect solution when Ruby decided she wanted short hair. Then I only had one girl to do fancy hairdos for. Then Daisy started talking about a haircut since her hair can be so hard to brush. I sort of ignored her until I discovered that she had cut quite a chunk from her hair one day when trying to remove an elastic. I figured I could hide it and let it grow out, but I decided to ask her if she was really serious about wanting short hair. She was so excited when I showed her the Locks of Love website. She thought it was great that her pretty long hair could help someone else. It proved to be a great thing since we had such a busy summer. I think she looks just darling!
I am missing their lovely long hair, though. Ruby says she wants to grow hers out, and I am glad!
