School Days

I like to make a fun tradition out of the first day of school. 

Every year, since 2004 when we began home schooling, we have done a family field trip to the Bean Museum. 
The first two years, we actually went ON the first day of school to show off that everyone else was in school, but we were not!
But now Dad has to work on the first day of school, so we just plan an outing sometime that week. 

I like to have some fun new things set out for the kids when they wake up in the morning. 
Usually some new clothes, school books, and school supplies. 

This is our third year participating in a Home School Options program at a local charter school.  We give them the enrollment they need to keep afloat, and they give us the teachers and classrooms that we want for one day a week. This year we attend on Fridays.  It is awesome!

Schedules for this year:
Ruby: Theater, Piano, Fitness, Ballet, Lunch Break, Imagination Station (literature), and History Crafts

Brandon: Theater, Piano, Fitness, Sculpting, Lunch Break, Imagination Station, Art Year 2 (actually his 3rd)

Nathan: Theater, Fitness, Piano, Orff Music, Lunch Break, Science Lab, The Club House (literature)

Daisy: Movement (dance), Magic of Stories, Science Lab, History Crafts, Lunch, Learning Games, Orff Music.
